Today, I will guide you through creating your first Spring Web MVC program step by step. Before we start programming, it is essential to understand the architecture diagram I discussed previously. If you haven't seen that tutorial yet, please do so before proceeding with this programming part. ## Step 1: Create a Maven Project To begin, we will create a Maven project in Eclipse. Here’s how: 1. Right-click in the Eclipse workspace. 2. Select `New` > `Other`. 3. Choose `Maven Project` and click `Next`. 4. Again, click `Next`. 5. Select `Web Application` and click `Next`. 6. Fill in the Group ID, Artifact ID, and Version. For example: - Group ID: `spring.web.mvc` - Artifact ID: `myapp` - Version: `1.0` 7. Click `Finish`. Once the project is created, you may need to confirm some settings. If prompted, press `Y` and `Enter` to proceed. ## Step 2: Add Spring Web MVC Dependency Next, we need to add the Spring Web MVC dependency in the `pom.xml` file: 1. Open your browser and search for the Spring Web MVC dependency for Maven. 2. Select the latest version and copy the dependency code. 3. Open the `pom.xml` file in your project. 4. Paste the dependency inside the `` tag. 5. Save the file (Ctrl + S). This single dependency will automatically add several required JAR files to your project. ## Step 3: Configure the DispatcherServlet The DispatcherServlet acts as the front controller in Spring MVC. We need to configure it in the `web.xml` file: 1. Open the `web.xml` file in your project. 2. Add the following configuration: ```xml

``` 3. Ensure you provide the fully qualified class name for the DispatcherServlet. ## Step 4: Create Spring Configuration File Next, we will create a Spring configuration file: 1. Save the file. ## Step 5: Configure Handler Mapping Now, we need to configure the handler mapping in the Spring configuration file: 1. This mapping will direct requests to the appropriate controller. ## Step 6: Create the Controller Next, we will create a controller class: 1. Right-click on the `src/main/java` folder and create a new package named `controller`. 2. Inside this package, create a new Java class named `HelloController`. 3.
